يُعد الابتكار التكنولوجي مفتاح التنافسية الجوهرية. وقد أنشأت شركة تشاينا ديجيتال فريقًا قويًا للبحث والتطوير وتشغيل المعلومات، يضم نحو 2,000 موظف في مجال البحث والتطوير البرمجي. كما أنها الوحدة الرئاسية لـ«مجموعة عمل تعزيز خدمات المعلومات عبر الإنترنت التابعة لتحالف تشانغفونغ» لدى وزارة العلوم والتكنولوجيا. وقد طرحت فعليًا منظومة خدمات SaaS ذات الطابع الصيني، ووضعت معايير ومواصفات تناسب عمليات خدمات تكنولوجيا المعلومات في الصين، مع اعتماد SPS كمحور أساسي. وعلى صعيد البنية التحتية لتكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات، أقامت تشاينا ديجيتال مراكز بيانات متخصصة في بكين وقوانغتشو وسوتشو وغيرها من المواقع، وحققت الربط البيني بين شبكات الاتصالات الشمالية والجنوبية، وأنشأت بيئة شبكة عالية الأمان والموثوقية، وتضم أكثر من 3,000 جهاز تشغيل. ومن خلال إنشاء مختبرات مشتركة مع شركات مثل نت آب وإتش بي وغيرها، تم تحقيق توحيد الحوسبة وتوحيد التخزين. وفي مجال التجارة الإلكترونية، كانت رائدة في تطوير منصة للتجارة الإلكترونية تقدم خدمات حسب الطلب وخدمات مخصّصة. كما تقدّمت بطلبات لأكثر من عشرة براءات اختراع تقنية، وأصبحت إحدى الشركات التجريبية لمشروع محرك براءات الاختراع في بكين.
